Vintar Church
Vintar, Ilocos Norte
The interior of Vintar Church before its destruction in 1983 by an earthquake.
The Retablo Mayor is of Post-Vatican II vintage with the images of the Crucified Christ and San Nicolas de Tolentino, the church's patron saint.
The side altar to the right of the viewer features the statues of the Virgin of Rosary with Sts. Dominic and Catherine, while the left minor altar bears an unidentifiable saint, perhaps a statue of St. Joseph.
The statue of the Risen Christ on the foreground survives to this day and is still used in the town's Holy Week rituals.
The church facade prior to its destruction in the 80's.
